Montcalm Royal London House has officially joined Marriott International’s Autograph Collection Hotels, marking a significant new chapter for the Grade II‑listed Finsbury Square property and strengthening its position as one of the City of London’s most distinctive luxury hotels.

The move connects the hotel to Marriott Bonvoy’s global network while preserving the individuality, heritage and London identity that define the Montcalm Collection.

A reimagined hotel inspired by its Royal Mail heritage

The building’s past as the former headquarters of Royal Mail shapes the hotel’s refreshed concept, The Art of Expression. Newly refurbished rooms and public spaces are complemented by creative guest experiences that celebrate handwriting, correspondence and the culture of communication — from replica Royal Mail post boxes and hand‑drawn postcards to contemporary art, sleep poems and literary events.

Across the hotel, curated books themed around postal history, expressive artwork, and storytelling details connect the interiors to the building’s legacy while giving the property a modern, design‑led identity.

Refreshed rooms and new terrace suites

All 253 rooms and suites have been thoughtfully refurbished, blending calming neutrals with richer accents and indulgent comfort, including luxury amenities, rain showers or deep bathtubs and plush beds . Brand‑new Terrace Suites on the top floor offer private outdoor lounge areas and uninterrupted skyline views — a standout addition for business travellers seeking space to unwind above the City.

Art, creativity and connection

More than 900 artworks by 30 artists now feature throughout the hotel, curated by Culture A to encourage discovery and conversation, with seasonal exhibitions presented in partnership with Rise Art . A programme of literary events, calligraphy workshops and writing salons — developed with London Writers’ Salon — will bring the Art of Expression to life from October 2026.

Dining, wellness and events

Guests can continue to enjoy the hotel’s signature facilities, including the YĀTRĀ Signature Spa, offering a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and Ayurvedic‑inspired treatments, and Aviary Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, known for seasonal menus and panoramic City views. Flexible meeting and event spaces — including the Postmaster Suite for up to 240 guests — make the hotel a strong choice for corporate gatherings and conferences.

A natural fit for Autograph Collection

Marriott International describes the hotel as a perfect addition to Autograph Collection Hotels, noting that its Royal Mail heritage offers “the sort of character that can’t be manufactured” and aligns with the brand’s focus on properties with distinctive stories to tell.

Room rates start from £375 per night.
