Norse Atlantic Airways has launched flights from London Gatwick to Miami, marking the carrier’s seventh destination in the US.

The four-times-weekly service will increase to five times per week during the peak winter season, with return fares starting from £420 including taxes.

The carrier had initially launched flights between Gatwick and Fort Lauderdale, but decided to make the switch to Miami International airport, which is both larger and closer to the city’s downtown and Miami Beach areas.

A new direct service will also operate twice a week from Oslo to Miami, with return fares starting from NOK 5,530 including taxes.

This service will be followed by flights from Paris and Berlin to Miami in December.

Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO and founder of Norse Atlantic Airways, commented: “We are pleased to have commenced operating from Oslo and London direct to Miami, and we look forward to extending our services from Paris and Berlin in December. Miami has always been a popular destination and we are committed to providing our passengers with a comfortable and great value service on board our modern Boeing 787 Dreamliners.”

Ralph Cutié, Miami International airport director and CEO, added: “We are thrilled that Norse Atlantic has chosen Miami International Airport for all of their South Florida flights, making us their seventh destination in the U.S.

“We proudly welcome their London Gatwick and Oslo service to Miami-Dade County – two routes that were previously unserved at MIA.”

Norse Atlantic Airways already operates flights from London Gatwick to New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC and Orlando.
