Europe’s largest airline is boosting its UK network this December, adding tens of thousands of seats to ensure passengers can travel home for the holidays.
Stansted surge
Ryanair has confirmed it will add over 64,000 extra seats to and from London Stansted during Christmas week 2025. The airline expects to carry more than 529,000 passengers through the airport over the festive period, responding to strong demand from travellers keen to reunite with family and friends.
Liverpool lift
At Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Ryanair is increasing capacity by 11,000 seats, forecasting more than 47,000 passengers over Christmas week. The uplift underscores the strength of regional demand and the carrier’s commitment to serving secondary hubs.
Birmingham boost
Birmingham Airport will see 16,000 additional seats, with Ryanair expecting to carry 76,000 passengers during the festive period. The expansion strengthens connectivity for the Midlands, a key region for both leisure and business travel.
Belfast addition
Ryanair is also adding 4,900 seats to and from Belfast, supporting an estimated 26,000 passengers. The move ensures Northern Ireland travellers benefit from increased options to get home on time for Christmas.
Jade Kirwan, Ryanair’s Director of Communications, commented: “The countdown to Christmas is on and flights are booking up fast. To support strong travel demand and ensure passengers can get home to spend Christmas with family and friends, we’ve added thousands of extra seats across our UK network. We encourage anyone intending to travel this Christmas to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.”
