IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Six Senses Camp Korongo, a 480-acre ultra-luxury resort and branded residential community set near Kanab in southern Utah.
The property is scheduled to open in 2029 and marks a significant expansion of the Six Senses brand in the Americas.
Positioned amid some of the region’s most dramatic desert and canyon landscapes, the new development will be anchored in sweeping views across southern Utah’s sculpted rock formations and vast desert skies. Designed as a secluded sanctuary, Camp Korongo will comprise 41 luxury tented pavilions alongside 12 branded residences, all conceived to blend seamlessly into the surrounding juniper forest and canyon terrain.
The resort will sit within reach of several of the American Southwest’s most iconic natural landmarks, including Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, the Grand Canyon and Arches National Park — all visible from the site. This proximity underpins the resort’s focus on experiential travel, with guest activities guided by natural rhythms and outdoor exploration.
Experiences will include hiking along ancient trails, canyoneering sheer rock faces and stargazing beneath some of the darkest night skies in the region. Back at the resort, the Six Senses Spa will provide a wellness-focused counterpoint, offering immersive programmes designed to encourage physical restoration and deeper personal reflection.
Jolyon Bulley, chief executive officer, Americas, at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the project reflects both brand values and shifting luxury travel demand. “Six Senses Camp Korongo will blend the brand’s distinctive ethos in a truly unique location, while supporting our growth ambitions across the Americas. As outdoor exploration, nature and wellness continue to shape luxury travel, this desert sanctuary represents a compelling addition to the portfolio.”
The project is being developed in partnership with Canyon Global Partners, marking IHG’s first collaboration with the Larkspur, California-based developer. Architecture and design will be led by Luxury Frontiers, whose work focuses on nature-led, sustainable design across remote and environmentally sensitive destinations.
Neil Palmer, chief operating officer of Six Senses, described Camp Korongo as a natural extension of the brand’s philosophy. “This project embodies our approach to resorts and residences as places of genuine connection with the landscape. Guests and owners will share a rhythm shaped by nature, delivering hospitality that restores as much as it inspires, while respecting southern Utah’s unique environment.”
Six Senses Camp Korongo will join a growing pipeline of Six Senses properties in the Americas, including forthcoming openings in Mexico, Belize, Pennsylvania and Colorado. The Utah development further reinforces the brand’s ambition to redefine ultra-luxury experiential travel through locations defined by natural beauty, cultural context and regenerative design.
