Skyscanner has launched a major expansion of its platform with a new package holiday search engine, marking the company’s biggest product development in more than a decade.
The feature integrates millions of ATOL‑protected packages from leading UK travel providers, giving travellers a streamlined way to compare complete holiday deals in one place.
The launch comes amid a sharp rise in demand for package holidays, with Skyscanner reporting a 113% increase in searches since the start of the year, driven largely by cost‑conscious travellers seeking simplicity and value.
What the New Tool Offers
The new “Packages” search function allows users to browse more than 25 million holiday deals daily, pulling live data from major tour operators.
Travellers can filter to simplify what is often a fragmented search process across multiple websites. Skyscanner says the goal is to make finding a holiday “less of a chore” by applying the same metasearch technology as their global flight comparison.
Why Skyscanner Is Moving Into Packages
With new research showing younger travellers, particularly Gen Z and Millennials are increasingly drawn to package holidays for their value and convenience
How It Works
Once users select a package, they are redirected to the provider’s website to complete the booking all of which are ATOL protected and the expected saving to be around 30%.
The package holiday search engine has launched first in the UK, with Skyscanner planning to roll it out to additional markets later this year. The company says the expansion is part of a broader strategy to offer a full‑service travel planning ecosystem, now spanning flights, hotels, car hire and package holidays.
