SWISS has announced a major upgrade to its ground experience at Zurich Airport, confirming that brand‑new SWISS Business and Senator Lounges will open in the first quarter of 2027.
The lounges will move from their current home in Dock A to a newly constructed building on the southern side of Dock B, part of the airport’s wider redevelopment plans.
Covering around 2,600 square metres, the new lounges will offer 20% more space than the existing facilities, with each lounge occupying an entire floor. The design centres on openness, natural light and comfort, with a fully glazed façade providing panoramic views of the apron, runways and the Alps.
Inside, guests can expect spacious seating, dedicated relaxation zones and around 20 fully soundproofed workstations, reflecting SWISS’s focus on creating a quieter, higher‑quality lounge environment.
The Senator Lounge will feature a bar running along the window front, offering a 180‑degree view of Runway 34, along with a wine humidor and a dedicated maturation room for cheeses and cured meats — a distinctly Swiss touch.
The lounge building will sit directly above the bus gates, shortening the walk to boarding for some travellers. Once the new lounges open, the existing SWISS Business, Senator and Alpine Lounges in Dock A will close.
SWISS also confirmed that its First and HON Circle Lounge is expected to relocate to Dock B in 2028, with further details to follow.
Chief Customer Officer Heike Birlenbach said the investment is designed to elevate the experience at the airline’s home hub: “More space, with dedicated areas for working and relaxing, combined with open views of airport operations, will provide comfort and a distinctive sense of Switzerland.”
