Hitting the road to follow international soccer drove increased demand for  luxury mobility across the USA, Canada and Mexico, according to new Blacklane booking data.

The findings revealed strong travel activity from around the world, with travellers from the UK,  Germany, Japan and Spain contributing to significant increases in ground mobility bookings  during the competition period.

To determine how the global chauffeur service helped connect fans, businesses and partners,  Blacklane analysed airport pickup and drop-off bookings made in the 16 tournament host cities  using the booker’s phone country code as a proxy for traveller origin, comparing bookings from  11 June to 19 July 2026 against the same period in 2025.

Visitors from the following countries showed the highest surge in Blacklane bookings:

  • UAE
  • UK
  • Pakistan
  • Germany
  • Qatar
  • Japan
  • Spain
  • Ghana
  • Mexico
  • Paraguay

The data revealed match-winning momentum as the tournament progressed with Spain  emerging as one of the notable nations driving travel demand. When Blacklane ran the same  analysis three days before the 19 July 2026 Spain v Argentina final, Spain did not yet feature in  the top 10, indicating a late surge in travel demand as La Roja made history.

“Blacklane’s latest findings highlight the powerful ‘soccernomics’ effect major sports  tournaments have on global travel demand, with booking patterns shifting in real time as the  action unfolds,” said Kasra Moshkani, CEO Americas at Blacklane. “Soccer and luxury travel  naturally converge, drawing international fans, sponsors, and business travellers to the biggest  moments in sport. With eight of the top ten booking increases driven by long-haul travel, the  data shows just how quickly each knock-out and win can influence travel demand across the  global mobility economy.”

Among travellers with UK phone numbers, Boston, Atlanta and New York saw the largest  increases in Blacklane bookings. These cities hosted key matches involving England and  Scotland, helping to drive demand from traveling supporters.

Atlanta hosted two major England fixtures, including the semi-final against Argentina, while the  New York New Jersey stadium hosted England’s final group-stage match. Boston also saw a  strong uplift with the tartan-army’s takeover of Boston warmly welcomed by the Massachusetts  city.

Additional standout findings include:

● Quarter-finalists France, Argentina and Norway featured inside the top 20 countries  recording booking increases during the tournament period.

● Paraguay also recorded a significant rise in bookings during the tournament period,  following its standout performance and penalty shootout win over Germany.

● Pakistan’s increased travel activity is also notable. While soccer trails cricket in popularity domestically, Pakistan plays an important role in the global soccer ecosystem,  with the city of Sialkot widely recognized as one of the world’s leading soccer manufacturing centres.

The results also underline the commercial pull of major international tournaments. Alongside fan travel, business activity around sponsorships, partnerships and event operations may help explain why countries such as the UAE and Qatar ranked so highly for booking growth.
