The BTA appoints new interim strategic director

The Business Travel Association (BTA) has announced the appointment of Andrew Clarke as their new Interim Strategic Director.

Joining the BTA today, Clarke will assist in steering the strategic direction of the association for 2022 and beyond, whilst overseeing the evolution and future vision of partnership engagement.

Clarke will be pivotal in planning and executing the BTA’s move from an office based to a virtual organisation, managing content programmes for members and partners for the rest of 2021, and helping to deliver an outstanding BTA conference in September this year. He will also work alongside the core BTA team in showcasing the crucial role business travel plays in the UK and the wider global economy.

Clarke was most recently The Senior Director of Customer Success at Egencia, a world-renowned corporate travel solution from Expedia Group helping businesses optimise their travel programmes to control risk, support traveller wellbeing and maximize return on investment. He covered a number of roles for over 14 years and was an integral part of Egencia’s UK leadership team.

With over 30 years’ in the travel industry, Clarke brings a wealth of expertise in team leadership, service management, stakeholder engagement and partner collaboration. Prior to his role at Egencia, he held a range of Director and Managerial roles at CWT and Millennium & Copthorne Hotels. Clarke is also an NHS Volunteer, Mental Health first aider, and held an officer position on BTA’s Executive Board.
