The Alexandra Suite

Situated on the ground floor, the Alexandra Suite is The Midland’s largest conference and event room, combing two impressive meeting spaces to offer a capacity of 700 for a standing reception and 650 for a theatre-style setup. Recently refurbished, the space is the premier choice for large dining events, perfect for gala dinners, charity fundraisers, award ceremonies, and black-tie celebrations, accommodating up to 500 guests banquet-style. Benefiting from its own separate entrance and private bar, the hotel can arrange state of the art audiovisual equipment in the Alexandra Suite, including HD projectors, full range speakers, LCD screens and uncontended WiFi. The room is fully air-conditioned and features adjustable lighting options, allowing it to be tailored to create the perfect ambience for any event.

The Trafford Suite

For mid-sized gatherings, the Trafford Suite can accommodate up to 230 guests seated and 300 for a standing reception, with a variety of layout options. With a stunning permanent chandelier at its centre and panoramic views over St Peter’s Square, the room features elegant blue and white panelled walls, decorative plasterwork and tall arched windows dressed in rich silk drapery. The Trafford Suite is well-equipped to suit a variety of event occasions, offering an effortlessly versatile space.

Blending the award-winning flair of chef Adam Reid with the timeless charm of The Midland, this innovative events concept offers guests something special. Adam presents a northern take on private dining, championing hearty flavours and the finest local ingredients, expertly prepared and served in a refined yet simple way. Perfect for client entertaining, corporate events or immersive food experiences, private hire can seat up to 80 guests or accommodate a standing reception for up to 150. Whether it’s a celebration, a milestone occasion or just an excuse to get everyone in one room, guests can choose from a selection of three specially curated menus.
