Two of Arizona’s most storied properties — The Arizona Inn in Tucson and La Posada Hotel in Winslow — have been officially inducted into Historic Hotels of America, recognising their cultural significance and long‑standing commitment to preservation.
The Arizona Inn, founded in 1930 by Isabella Greenway, Arizona’s first congresswoman, has long been celebrated as a desert retreat defined by its Spanish colonial architecture and signature pink adobe walls. Guests can relax in its casita‑style accommodations, wander through historic gardens, enjoy the pool, and soon experience the property’s new spa, currently in development.
In Winslow, La Posada Hotel earns its place in Historic Hotels of America as the last Harvey House ever built in the United States, designed by renowned architect Mary Colter. Visitors can explore the hotel’s gardens, tour the Affeldt Mion Museum, and dine at the acclaimed Turquoise Room before returning to their Southwestern‑style rooms or heading out to discover the town’s classic Route 66 attractions.
