Your Place is set to strengthen its London presence this March with the opening of Bower House, a new 10-bedroom townhouse hotel in Pimlico.

The latest opening marks another step in the steady expansion of the family-run group, which is known for restoring characterful British buildings and delivering relaxed, residential-style hospitality. Bower House will introduce individually designed bedrooms to one of London’s most refined neighbourhoods, appealing to both business and leisure travellers seeking a quieter, more intimate base in the capital.

The property is currently undergoing a full refurbishment led by Gabe von der Heyde, who has overseen several of the group’s recent renovation projects. The redesign aims to balance warmth and contemporary style while retaining the scale and feel of a private home, rather than a traditional hotel.

Your Place’s approach to growth is closely tied to its history. The group’s roots date back to 1851, when the von der Heyde family opened what is now the Georgian House Hotel. Still owned and operated by the same family five generations on, the hotel remains a cornerstone of the brand’s identity.

In recent years, the group has broadened its London offer with the addition of Chinnery House Apartments, responding to demand for serviced accommodation and longer stays — particularly from business travellers looking for flexibility and privacy.

Expansion is not limited to the capital. Your Place also operates in the Lake District, where it runs Victorian House in Grasmere. Its newest northern acquisition, Rothay Garth in Ambleside, is currently undergoing redevelopment ahead of a planned reopening in 2026.

As with its other properties, the Lake District project will focus on preserving original architectural features while introducing a lighter, more contemporary aesthetic aligned with the brand’s understated style.

Rather than rapid scale, Your Place continues to prioritise thoughtful growth, selecting properties with a strong sense of place and a story worth preserving. While each hotel is designed to feel individual, all share a consistent ethos: comfortable design, informal service and an emphasis on making guests feel genuinely at home.

The opening of Bower House this March adds a new, intimate option for London travellers — particularly those drawn to Pimlico’s blend of elegance, connectivity and proximity to the city’s key business districts — and signals continued momentum for one of the UK’s quietly expanding independent hotel groups.
