Starting from 1st October, the Tanzanian archipelago of Zanzibar will require all visitors to have mandatory travel insurance.
The UK Foreign Office has updated its travel advice, warning that entry may be refused without the correct insurance.
All visitors to Zanzibar, excluding residents, must purchase Inbound Travel Insurance from the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) for the duration of their stay, up to 92 days. The Foreign Office stated, “You can only buy this insurance from ZIC. Other international travel insurance policies will not be accepted.”
