Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, has raised the ceiling on its premium offer with the launch of an exclusive collection of oceanfront bungalows, a move squarely aimed at travellers, including the bleisure market, who want seclusion and personalised service on one of the Dominican Republic’s least developed coastlines.
Set along the shores of Playa Esmeralda, the 16 new bungalows represent the most intimate tier of the resort’s stay experiences. Each is positioned as a private oceanfront sanctuary rather than simply a room, with the emphasis on space, service and setting working in concert to deliver what the operator describes as quiet sophistication.
Available in Studio Suite and Two-Bedroom Suite layouts, every bungalow offers sweeping ocean views, generous indoor and outdoor living areas, a private plunge pool, an oversized soaking tub, island-inspired interiors and direct access to Playa Esmeralda’s secluded golden-sand shoreline. The limited inventory, just 16 units, is clearly intended to keep the proposition exclusive.
Every bungalow stay includes the resort’s Club Azure privileges, covering private check-in and check-out, dedicated butler service, concierge access, nightly turndown, premium Wi-Fi, upgraded amenities and entry to a roster of exclusive venues. Guests who book directly through the resort’s website also receive complimentary roundtrip VIP airport transfers between Punta Cana International Airport and the property, a useful incentive for the direct-booking channel.
At the centre of the experience sits The Royal Palm, a lounge reserved for Club Azure and bungalow guests. Overlooking Playa Esmeralda, it offers an adults-only rooftop infinity pool and whirlpool, alongside two bar concepts: The Royal Palm Poolside Bar, a rooftop venue for handcrafted cocktails, and Caicu, an intimate indoor cocktail bar within the lounge.
Bungalow guests also gain access to Jagua, the resort’s private dining venue, where ocean-inspired menus and fresh seafood are served in a jungle-inspired setting. Further privileges include Carey, the Club Azure swim-up bar, and Hidden Locker, a speakeasy-style venue serving premium cocktails. Room service runs 24 hours a day, delivered to the privacy of the bungalow.
Wellness threads through the bungalow stay, with one complimentary 50-minute massage per adult per stay, hydrotherapy access, dedicated offers at Acana Spa & Wellness and sensory rituals designed around relaxation. Curated nightly amenities and Caribbean-inspired aromatherapy round out the personalised approach.
Beyond the bungalows, guests can tap into the resort’s cultural programming, drawn from Dominican traditions and Taino heritage. The line-up spans rum tastings, organic chocolate workshops, folkloric performances, artisan sessions, Taino-inspired ceremonies, beachfront yoga and culinary classes celebrating local flavours and craftsmanship.
The launch builds on a busy first year for the property, which debuted in the Dominican Republic’s emerging Miches region as the first Curio Collection all-inclusive resort in the country. Since opening, Zemi Miches has added the Palmchat Teens Club, attractions including escape rooms, laser tag and mini bowling, expanded Taino-inspired children’s programming at Coki Cove, the 16,000-square-foot Acana Spa & Wellness, four multigenerational water slides and the Hidden Locker speakeasy.
The bungalow debut also reflects Hilton’s wider push into Caribbean and Latin American luxury and all-inclusive stays, a region where competition is intensifying. Rivals are moving on the same coast, with Hyatt’s Secrets Macao Beach Punta Cana among the new builds reshaping the Punta Cana market.
For Zemi Miches, the bet is on location as much as product. Playa Esmeralda sits on the Dominican Republic’s emerging Miches coastline, a stretch of golden-sand beaches and mountain backdrops still largely free of mass tourism, giving the resort a point of difference as it courts higher-spending guests.
