Palazzo di Varignana introduces new EVER Destination Concierge offering guests access to exclusive behind the scenes tours and immersive local experiences

From opening doors to restricted access areas of the Ferrari headquarters to unique craft and gourmet experiences with local experts, EVER offers an insight into the Emilia Romana region rarely seen by tourists.

Palazzo di Varignana has launched new EVER Destination Concierge service offering guests the opportunity to immerse themselves into the culture, nature, gastronomy and craftsmanship of Italy’s truly underrated region of Emilia Romagna near the historic city of Bologna. Home to the famous ‘Motor Valley’, some of Italy’s most renowned food products and a region of both historic and cultural importance, EVER hopes to encourage guests to explore beyond the obvious with carefully crafted, tailor-made experiences.
EVER Destination Concierge’s excursions cover a wide range of interests and genres from family fun on a traditional farm to riding trails through the protected Po Delta on Camargue Delta Horses. Given the wealth of incredible ingredients in the area, there are several gourmet tours that allow guests to explore local cheese, hunt for truffles or learn how to cook seafood from filleting to final presentation. Ancient art and culture are addressed through art tours and workshops in calligraphy and ceramics. And of course, there are tours for motoring fans ranging from exclusive behind the scenes factory tours to test drives with a professional instructor on the Modena circuit.

Examples of EVER experiences on offer:

Exclusive Motor Valley experiences

Tours range from the highly exclusive Forbidden Ferrari Experience offering behind the scenes access to the flagship Ferrari factory to an exhilarating opportunity to test drive a Ferrari 4888 challenge with a professional instructor on the testing Modena circuit. Excursions explore classic Motor Valley attractions including the Lamborghini factory and museum along with enviable private car collections with gems including the 1940 Auto Avio Costruzioni 815 – the very first car built by Enzo Ferrari before he founded the company.

Exploring the remote Po Delta by horseback or electric boat

Beginner and experienced riders can explore the unspoiled nature of the Po Delta on the region’s Camargue Delta horses, known for their gentle temperament, discovering valleys rich in aquatic birds, ancient pine forests, rivers and hidden beaches. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a truly off-grid perspective of the Po Delta gliding silently through back-waters and secret channels on board a private electric boat.

Family fun on a traditional farm

Located in the foothills of the beautiful Apennine Mountains near Bologna, this is an immersive experience in rural life with guests involved in the workings of a local farm from the collection of fresh eggs to milking the goats and sheep, as well as a ‘planting’ workshop where guests learn horticultural skills and take home seeds or plants to grow. A delicious lunch of fresh farm produce paired with local wine compliments the experience.

A waterfront seafood cookery demonstration and lunch

Located on the seafront in Rimini, this experience draws on the bountiful produce from the Adriatic Sea where participants learn about cooking every part of the fish, from preparation to cooking techniques to create an extraordinary dish. The day culminates in a wine-paired tasting lunch celebrating the best of the sea.

Exploring local produce including Fossa cheese, truffles and coffee

A variety of tours allow guests to source, taste and learn about local specialities, from pit-ripened Fossa cheese to understanding Italy’s world-famous espresso culture. Guests can also enjoy a  truffle hunt in the woodlands of Savigno, known as the ‘City of Truffles’, where a guide and trained dog accompany guests in search of this hidden treasure, culminating in a lunch celebrating truffles and seasonal cuisine.

Remembering the beauty of handwriting

With the onset of technology, the beautiful art of fountain pen calligraphy is nearing extinction. This exclusive workshop in the heart of Bologna’s city centre, invites guests to rediscover the pleasure of the written word. Participants learn calligraphy techniques using the shop’s stunning collection of pens and receive a personalised keepsake, such as custom-headed writing paper or ink created during the session.

A Ceramics workshop is the art village of Dozza

Guests visit the village of Dozza, known for its art and where every wall showcases murals created by local and international artists. A ceramics workshop teaches ancient techniques allowing guests to create unique pieces to take home as tangible reminders of the artisanal tradition.
