What we liked
- Brand new, with stylish design that blends restored historic buildings and modern architecture
- An excellent spa
- A central location, steps from the Colonnade and Singing Fountain
What we didn't
- Meeting rooms are small, so it isn't suited to large events
- Parking spaces are tight
- There are no direct flights nearby, so it's about a two-hour transfer from Prague
Some places make you slow down the moment you arrive, and Mariánské Lázně is one of them.
Tucked among forested hills in West Bohemia, this graceful spa town has been soothing visitors for more than two centuries. Composers, poets and kings once strolled its colonnades, and its mineral springs still bubble up through elegant pavilions scattered across the parks. Together with Karlovy Vary and Františkovy Lázně, it forms the famous West Bohemian Spa Triangle, part of UNESCO’s Great Spa Towns of Europe, and it’s easy to see why.
Into this storybook setting comes something new and rather wonderful. Swissôtel Mariánské Lázně opened in January 2026 as the brand’s very first hotel in the Czech Republic, and it has made a dazzling debut. The hotel brings together a handful of historic buildings, joined by contemporary additions into one harmonious whole. The result balances historic charm with modern elegance: Art Deco roots, polished interiors and a striking collection of contemporary art.
There are 125 air-conditioned rooms and suites, each a calm retreat in soft, natural tones. Beds are deeply comfortable, the bathrooms are sleek, and the windows frame views of the town’s leafy avenues and handsome spa architecture.
Wellness, of course, is the heart of any stay here. The Pürovel Spa & Sport draws its inspiration from the Swiss Alps and the rhythm of the seasons. Spend an afternoon drifting between warmth, water and quiet, and you’ll emerge feeling wonderfully new.
When hunger calls, the 105 Dining Lounge serves international cuisine with a delicious local accent. The Bohemian Bar shakes up inventive cocktails, the Swiss Café tempts with irresistible pastries, and Pod Oblaky, whose name means “beneath the clouds”, is a rooftop bar with panoramic views across the town and hills.
For business travellers, several stylish event spaces include the Dreambox, a room designed to spark fresh thinking, making the hotel an inspiring choice for meetings and retreats away from the city.
Step outside and the town is yours to explore. The magnificent Main Colonnade and the Singing Fountain, where music and water dance together, are just moments away. Beyond them, peaceful parks and forest trails wind past mineral springs and viewpoints, and Chopin House celebrates one of the town’s most famous guests. Mariánské Lázně is made for walking, sipping the waters and simply breathing in the fresh, pine-scented air.
Swissôtel Mariánské Lázně captures everything that makes this spa town so special and adds a fresh, joyful sparkle of its own. Whether you’re after a restorative long weekend or a calm reset after a busy business trip, it’s the perfect place to rediscover the art of doing nothing beautifully.
