This fall, Mexico City enters a week like no other, as two of the city’s most anticipated moments, Día de Muertos and the Mexico City Grand Prix converge from October 30–November 1.

At the centre this highly anticipated weekend is Andaz Mexico City Condesa, where community, tradition, and an electric energy will come together. Deeply rooted in the local culture, the hotel is preparing to celebrate the spirit of Día de Muertos through the vibrant cempasúchil, or marigold, serving as one of the holiday’s most recognizable symbols.

From October 26 through November 4, “The House in Bloom,” a Leonela x Andaz Mexico City Condesa collaboration, transforms the hotel through a site-specific installation, with sculptural cempasúchil moving throughout the property. The experience continues through by targeting the “scent” of Dia de Muertos with an Andaz x Surco collaboration, with cempasúchil and copal filling the lobby alongside handcrafted barro negro candles. Guests can become part of the celebration through Catrina face painting, while seasonal interpretations of familiar traditions arrive at Derba Matcha Café, including pan de muerto with orange blossom, cinnamon, guava and cempasúchil sugar, as well as mandarin cheesecake with cempasúchil compote.

Along with a shuttle system to easily bring guests to and from the races, Andaz offers its own rhythm of Mexican flavor and late-night revelry. At Pórtico, UXMAL, the hotel’s taquería-inspired pop-up, brings the nostalgia of the neighborhood taco stand within the property. Serving up carved-to-order tacos, handmade tortillas, molcajete salsas, aguas frescas and craft beers, a local experience reimagined through the Andaz lens. After dark, Cabuya Rooftop carries the celebration into the night with sunset DJ sets, and Dia de Muertos inspired specialty cocktails featuring Catrín, mandarin, orange blossom, mezcal, and more.
