London has once again been named the most popular meetings and events destination in Europe, maintaining its leading position according to the latest annual report from meetings and events tech provider Cvent.

London has once again been named the most popular meetings and events destination in Europe, maintaining its leading position according to the latest annual report from meetings and events tech provider Cvent.

The ranking, based on sourcing activity through the Cvent Supplier Network, shows that the top ten destinations have remained largely consistent year-over-year.

Barcelona secured the second spot, while Madrid moved up to third place. Berlin climbed two positions to fourth, followed by Lisbon in fifth. The rest of the top ten included Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, and Munich.

Fiona Plumpton, head of London Convention Bureau services, expressed her delight at London’s continued dominance: “We’re delighted to once again lead the Cvent Top Meeting Destinations in Europe list. London saw significant growth last year with 30 new hotels. This year, we’re on track to nearly double that number. We’re particularly excited about the upcoming transformation of ExCeL London, with a £200 million investment breathing new life into the venue.”

In addition to London’s accolade, the Meliá Castilla in Madrid was named the top meetings hotel in Europe, rising three places since Cvent’s 2023 report. The Hilton Prague and NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding followed in second and third places, respectively. Madrid’s Marriott Auditorium Hotel & Conference Centre and the Lisbon Marriott Hotel rounded out the top five.

Globally, Orlando, Las Vegas, and Nashville were recognized as the leading meetings and events destinations in North America. Dubai, Istanbul, and Abu Dhabi topped the list in the Middle East and Africa, while Singapore, Bangkok, and Sydney were the most popular destinations in the Asia Pacific region.

This recognition underscores London’s robust infrastructure and appeal for hosting significant business events, further bolstered by ongoing investments and developments in the city’s hospitality and events sectors.
