Florence will welcome a striking new addition to its luxury hotel scene this autumn with the opening of Palazzo Sogni on 1 October 2026.
Set within the Renaissance centre of the city, the five‑star hotel offers some of Florence’s finest views of the cathedral and blends heritage, culture, art and contemporary design into a seamless, highly curated experience.
The property has undergone an impressive renovation and conservation project, resulting in an atmosphere described as “dream‑like” — a synergy of classic Florentine architecture and modern interiors that gives each space a sense of timeless sophistication . Located on Via de’ Martelli, it sits just one minute from the Duomo and within a five‑minute walk of Florence’s most iconic landmarks, including Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, San Lorenzo and Santa Maria Novella.
A Renaissance legacy reimagined
Palazzo Sogni’s history dates back to the sixteenth century, originally part of Palazzo Testa and constructed by the Martelli family during the height of the Renaissance . Its monumental nymphaeum — complete with a stone fountain attributed to Baccio Bandinelli — remains a centrepiece of the building’s heritage . Frescoes by Luigi Catani and Antonio Marini, created between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, have been sensitively preserved and now form part of the hotel’s visual identity.
Couture hospitality for the modern traveller
The hotel features 30 rooms and suites, each showcasing restored frescoes, intriguing architectural elements and beautifully finished interiors designed to meet the expectations of today’s luxury traveller . Palettes of powder blue, sage green and ivory run through the furnishings, complemented by velvets, embroidered silks and bespoke jacquard fabrics crafted by Florentine artisans . Bathrooms feature luminous onyx surfaces, while Rivolta Carmignani linens, Santa Maria Novella amenities and playful “Press for Champagne” brass buttons add touches of indulgence and personality.
