Hyde & Seek has seen significant last-minute booking surge during first week of operation following widespread flight cancellations at Heathrow and Gatwick
Newly opened Hyde & Seek, London Hyde Park, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel experienced an unprecedented surge in last-minute bookings last night as widespread UK air traffic control disruption left thousands of passengers facing cancelled and delayed flights.
Yesterday evening the hotel picked up 75 bedrooms in 25 minutes, a significant operational moment for the 309-room hotel during its first week of opening.
Located at Lancaster Gate, with direct transport connections to Heathrow Airport, Hyde & Seek’s team responded to the influx of last-minute guests while continuing to manage the demands of a newly opened hotel. The situation remains ongoing, with a number of guests extending their stays as disruption continues across the UK’s aviation network.
Paul Davies, General Manager at Hyde & Seek, London Hyde Park, commented “To receive 75 room bookings within the space of less than half an hour would be a significant operational moment for any hotel, but for it to happen during our very first week of opening was quite extraordinary.
“I’ve been incredibly impressed by how the team responded. Despite the unprecedented volume of last-minute arrivals, everyone immediately stepped up to ensure guests, many of whom had already experienced a difficult and uncertain day of travel, received the warm welcome and level of service we want Hyde & Seek to be known for.
“We’re continuing to see the impact today, with some guests extending their stays while travel plans are rearranged. It’s certainly been an unexpected way to begin our first week, but it has demonstrated the strength and adaptability of the team from the outset.”
