ARK Living will open its third London location this summer as it takes over the former Mama Shelter Shoreditch site, relaunching the property as a flexible-stay, membership-led hotel designed for both short and extended stays.
The 195-room hotel, which originally debuted as Mama Shelter’s first UK outpost in 2019, closed quietly in March, with the brand confirming its departure after six years in the neighbourhood.
Reopening in August as ARK Shoreditch, the revamped property will offer 194 rooms across six floors, with long-stay licences from three to 12 months and short-stay options from one to 89 nights, supported by dynamic nightly pricing. Rates for long-stay studios will start from £1,799 per month on a 12‑month agreement.
The accommodation mix includes 162 studios for extended stays and 32 short‑stay rooms, ranging from 17 sqm Cosy Studios to 25.5 sqm Urban Studios, all equipped with ensuite bathrooms, kitchenettes (except short‑stay rooms), double beds and TVs.
Shared amenities, a key draw for remote workers and project-based travellers, include large communal kitchens, a gym and yoga room, cinema, karaoke rooms, a playroom and an internal garden designed to foster community among residents and short‑stay guests alike.
Crosstree Real Estate continues to own and operate the ARK Living brand, which already runs sites in Wembley and Canary Wharf. Managing director Robert Alam said the Shoreditch opening reflects the company’s ambition to expand its co‑living footprint and create spaces that encourage connection and creativity within London’s most dynamic districts
