The travel management scale-up is the only Italian company recognized as the “Best European NDC Client 2024” from Iberia during the FITUR trade fair in Madrid

The Italian travel management scale-up BizAway has been recognized as the only Italian company to receive the prestigious “Best European NDC Client 2024” award, alongside 15 other travel agencies worldwide. This acknowledgment highlights BizAway’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the travel industry, confirming the company as a key player in the adoption of NDC technology.

This recognition comes from the results BizAway has achieved and for its strong growth in IB NDC adoption, reaching 70% from 29% in 2024.

The NDC Standard

NDC (New Distribution Capability), still one of the most ambitious challenges in the travel industry, is a data exchange standard developed by IATA (International Air Transportation Association) that allows airlines to communicate directly with agencies or travel management companies. This enables them to provide personalized offers—based on booking history—create more dynamic content, and ensure better price transparency without additional surcharges. As a result, not only airlines and aggregators but also customers can benefit from a better overall experience, with tailor-made fares and enhanced post-sales services for cancellations or flight changes.

The potential of this system is also confirmed by the latest ITM Trending Survey 2024, which revealed that 82% of Travel Managers consider current booking tools to be lacking in flexibility and customization.

BizAway was among the first Italian companies to adopt this standard: starting in 2021, the platform provides its customers with more competitive fares and an increasingly diverse range of options. Today, 18% of bookings are made directly on BizAway platform, which has resulted in an estimated 10% reduction in ticket costs.
