British Airways has announced the addition of several new services to its London Gatwick short haul network, providing travellers with more options for their summer getaways.
The new routes include a summer service to Salzburg, as well as flights to Montpellier, Corfu, Mykonos, and Innsbruck.
The expansion comes following the recent approval of British Airways’ subsidiary airline, BA Euroflyer, to operate under its AOC and Operating Licence from the UK Civil Aviation Authority. Branded as ‘British Airways’ across all aircraft and customer touchpoints, BA Euroflyer aims to enhance the airline’s short-haul offerings, similar to its existing subsidiary, BA Cityflyer.
Montpellier, situated in the south of France, will be served three times a week during the summer season starting from May 27, 2023. The new service to Mykonos complements the existing summer routes from London Heathrow and London City, while Corfu expands upon the existing London Heathrow service. Innsbruck will see an increase in flights during the winter season, adding eight new weekly flights to complement the current service from London Heathrow.
BA Euroflyer’s summer service to Salzburg will complement the existing winter services from London Gatwick and London Heathrow.
Additionally, British Airways has launched its short-haul Gatwick winter schedule, offering 21 destinations for travellers looking to book winter holidays and city breaks. Ski enthusiasts can choose from destinations like Geneva and Turin, while winter sun seekers have options like Tenerife and Lanzarote.
Tom Stoddart, Acting CEO of BA Euroflyer, expressed excitement about the growth of the short-haul schedule at Gatwick, highlighting the diverse range of destinations catering to various types of travellers.
With the addition of these new services, British Airways now flies to nearly 40 destinations throughout the year from Gatwick, ensuring a minimum of 12 Reward Seats for British Airways Executive Club members on every flight.
