Hilton has announced the official opening of its first Hilton Garden Inn · Gen A hotels in multiple cities across China, including Chongqing, Sanya, and Harbin.

Accelerating the brand’s growth, the company also announced 19 new signings of the brand across Greater China, at the recent 2025 Hilton Garden Inn Investment Summit.

Unveiled last year, the Hilton Garden Inn · Gen A prototype was developed specifically for China to offer refreshed design and value enhancements to meet the evolving emotional and functional needs of today’s traveller, setting a new benchmark in the upscale focused service segment.

As one of the first such properties to open, Hilton Garden Inn Chongqing Yubei Central Park exemplifies the brand’s refreshed design philosophy, business-friendly features, and lifestyle-oriented amenities. From nature-inspired designs evoking a “city garden” ambiance, to relaxed yet efficient 4-in-1 multifunctional spaces, the hotel’s 276 guest rooms and suites are well positioned to meet growing demand for sophistication and value.

While showcasing urban vitality, new generation Hilton Garden Inn properties have also been introduced in two popular tourist cities – Sanya and Harbin – creating efficient and comfortable living spaces. Hilton Garden Inn Sanya Haitang Bay is adjacent to the Wuxingzhou Island 5A-level wharf, Houhai Bay, Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park and Haichang Ocean Park, and is only 11 kilometers away from SDFG Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex. It allows travelers to enjoy tropical scenery while having convenient shopping. Hilton Garden Inn Harbin Haxi is located in the core area of western Harbin, 1.5 kilometers away from Haxi High-Speed Railway Station, close to Haxi Wanda Business District, and surrounded by popular attractions such as Central Street, Saint Sophia Cathedral, Harbin Grand Theatre and Harbin Ice and Snow World.

Signings momentum continues

At the recently held 2025 Hilton Garden Inn Investment Summit, 19 new projects were signed in destinations including Xining, Weihai, Changbai Mountain, and Yiwu, accelerating expansion into key cities and high-potential cultural tourism markets.

“Targeting core urban centres and high-potential cultural and tourism destinations deepens our network in China as we aim to serve ever more business and leisure travellers.”

“This wave of signings, including entries into key destinations, marks a milestone in Hilton’s regional expansion,” said Clarence Tan, senior vice president, Development, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “Targeting core urban centers and high-potential cultural and tourism destinations deepens our network in China as we aim to serve ever more business and leisure travelers. Hilton Garden Inn now has more than 115 trading properties in China, and we are poised to grow rapidly with another 185 in the pipeline.”

These signings are part of Hilton Garden Inn’s broader strategy to lead the upscale focused-service segment in Asia. Hilton recently announced the signing of three Hilton Garden Inn properties in South East Asia, putting the company on track to triple its focused service presence in the region in the years ahead. With more than 130 Hilton Garden Inn hotels operating in APAC and a growing footprint, the brand continues to attract investors with its efficient kit-of-parts prototype, tailored offerings, and greater flexibility with franchised and managed hotel agreement options.
