IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd to open Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari in Nepal’s Jhapa District, close to the India border.

The 99-room property is scheduled to open in 2026 and will be the second collaboration between the two companies, following the launch of Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha.

Located in the trading hub of Dhulabari, the hotel will be within easy reach of Kakarvitta on the Nepal–India border, Chandragadi Domestic Airport, and the Pathibhara Devi Temple, a major pilgrimage site. Facilities will include a rooftop dining venue, banquet hall, fitness centre, and parking.

Sudeep Jain, IHG’s managing director for South West Asia, said the deal reflected the company’s confidence in Nepal’s “high-potential” markets and built on an established partnership with Hotel Eastern Nepal.

Binita Thapa Khadka, chairperson of Hotel Eastern Nepal, said Dhulabari’s growth prospects made it an “exciting opportunity” and that IHG’s brand and operational standards would help raise the area’s hospitality offering.

Aimed at business travellers, cross-border traders and leisure visitors, the hotel will also target the meetings and events market, with IHG noting the limited supply of branded hotels in the area.
