Jetblue will launch a daytime flight between New York and London this summer, marking a notable addition to its transatlantic services.

The daily flight will depart from New York JFK, arriving at London Heathrow in the evening, where it will overnight before returning to New York early the next day.

The inaugural eastbound flight is scheduled for March 25, with the westbound service departing London Heathrow on March 26. The flight schedules are as follows:

– Jetblue 1107: New York JFK to London Heathrow, departing at 0830 and arriving at 2045.
– Jetblue 2220: London Heathrow to New York JFK, departing at 0825 and arriving at 1140.

Jetblue plans to operate three New York-London flights during the summer of 2023, with two of them, including the new daytime service, serving Heathrow, while the third will fly into Gatwick. Additionally, Jetblue will maintain its existing daily flight from Boston to both Heathrow and Gatwick.

While daytime transatlantic services have received mixed reactions from travellers, with some preferring the convenience of daytime flights and others favouring overnight options for time savings, Jetblue’s move reflects a growing trend in the industry. Notably, British Airways recently launched a daytime service between Newark and London Heathrow in June 2022.

However, challenges such as potential additional hotel costs for passengers and logistical considerations may influence the popularity of daytime flights compared to overnight alternatives. Nonetheless, Jetblue’s introduction of a daytime flight option provides passengers with added flexibility and choice in transatlantic travel.
