The Lake Como EDITION has officially opened, marking a major milestone for Bain Capital and Omnam Group as they expand their European portfolio of design‑led luxury hotels.
Set on the western shore of Lake Como, the property is a complete transformation of the historic Hotel Britannia Excelsior, reimagined in partnership with Marriott International’s EDITION brand.
Redeveloped under Omnam’s Italy Country Manager Yaniv Medalsy and Project Manager Shay Zabari, the hotel blends 19th‑century architecture with modern, understated luxury. Much of the original façade has been preserved, while interiors by Neri&Hu and De.Tales introduce a contemporary aesthetic that maximises light, views and a sense of calm. The 148 rooms and suites feature custom walnut furniture, Calacatta Gold stone bathrooms and many offer lake‑facing balconies.
The hotel’s social heart is its floating pool – the largest on Lake Como – complete with a pool bar, lounge and private dock. Later this summer, Omnam Design Studio will open The Lido, a second pool and restaurant designed for both guests and locals.
Dining is led by three‑Michelin‑starred chef Mauro Colagreco, who debuts his first Italian restaurant, Cetino, with a menu inspired by lake, sea and land. Renzo, the all‑day terrace restaurant, offers panoramic views framed by citrus trees and Mediterranean herbs, while the Lobby Bar and Pool Bar round out the hotel’s culinary offering.
Wellness is anchored by The Longevity Suite, whose spa combines advanced diagnostics, biohacking treatments, saunas, a heated indoor pool and a cold plunge. A Technogym fitness centre, sunrise yoga and guided hikes complete the wellbeing programme.
For Omnam Group, the opening represents its signature approach: restoring culturally significant buildings and elevating them through design, craftsmanship and strategic brand partnerships. As CEO David Zisser notes, the project reflects a commitment to “celebrating surroundings while meeting the needs of the modern traveller.”
The Lake Como EDITION now joins Omnam’s growing portfolio of high‑profile European developments, including Rosewood Bauer Venice, Park Hyatt Taormina and Baccarat Hotel Florence.
