Hyatt has opened the doors to Parian Chronicle Hotel Paros, a 50-room contemporary Cycladic retreat on the island of Paros that marks the Destination by Hyatt brand’s first property on a Greek island and its second in the country.

The adults-oriented hotel, managed by SWOT Hospitality and welcoming guests aged 13 and above, follows the brand’s Greek debut at Zélia Halkidiki last year and takes the Destination by Hyatt portfolio to 25 hotels and resorts across nearly ten countries.

The timing is no accident. Greece’s inbound tourism reached an all-time high of 37.98 million visitors in 2025, with tourism receipts climbing faster than arrivals, a shift towards higher-spending travellers that has global hotel groups, including rival Marriott, racing to expand across the country.

Named after the ancient marble inscription discovered on Paros that recorded moments of Greek history and mythology, the hotel sits in the village of Kampos, minutes from both the airport and Parikia Port, a location that will appeal to bleisure travellers keen to minimise transfer times at either end of a stay.

Privacy is the property’s calling card. Of the 50 newly built guestrooms and suites, 39 come with private pools, while the remainder feature outdoor jacuzzis. Rooms range from 30 to 42 square metres, each with a terrace or patio and sea views. Athens-based architect and interior designer Makridis Associates has drawn on the island’s marble, landscape and light, pairing whitewashed forms with stone, wood and linen in a palette of soft neutrals and warm earth tones.

At NAAO, the hotel’s signature restaurant, dining follows the rhythm of the island. Breakfast centres on the Peskesi basket of freshly baked breads, herbs, olive oil, honey and regional cheeses, while lunch brings sharing-style dishes built on local recipes and produce from island growers. Evenings showcase Cycladic curing, sun-drying and grilling techniques alongside wines from Paros and the wider Cyclades, plus a considered low and no-alcohol offering.

Wellness is anchored by Nipson Spa, inspired by ancient Greek healing traditions. The 120-square-metre facility houses a fitness centre, two single-sex saunas, a double treatment room and relaxation spaces, complemented by a large outdoor pool.

In keeping with the brand’s immersive travel positioning, guests can join producer-led tastings, meet local artisans and winemakers, and explore hidden beaches and traditional Parian villages.

The opening caps a strong start to 2026 for Hyatt, which reported system-wide RevPAR up 5.4 per cent in the first quarter and a record development pipeline of 151,000 rooms.
