Ground has been broken on The Wedge Boutique Hotel in St Kitts, an 18-suite property in Frigate Bay that is scheduled to open in February 2027 and will pair apartment-style suites with full hotel service.
For UK travellers, the timing matters. St Kitts is reachable direct from London Gatwick on twice-weekly British Airways services, and the island’s hotel stock has until now leaned heavily towards resorts and villas. The Wedge sits between the two, offering fully equipped kitchens and smart home technology alongside housekeeping, room service, a front desk and concierge, a combination that suits longer stays, small teams travelling together and anyone extending a work trip into a family holiday.
What the property will offer
The development, announced by the St Kitts Tourism Authority, comprises nine two-bedroom and nine one-bedroom suites, each fitted with contemporary design features. A rooftop bar and lounge and on-site parking complete the guest offer. The Tourism Authority has positioned the property as particularly well suited to multi-generational families, though the same specification, separate bedrooms, self-catering and seven-day service, reads equally well for extended business stays and for the incentive groups that have driven much of the island’s recent growth alongside its dive and adventure tourism.

A retail promenade at street level
The ground floor will house seven commercial units, planned as a retail promenade of luxury boutiques, cafés and duty-free shops. That is a deliberate attempt to build a walkable pocket of Frigate Bay rather than another self-contained resort, and it should give guests somewhere to eat and meet without arranging transport.
Location helps. The site on Zenway Boulevard puts guests within walking distance of Frigate Bay Marina, the beach bars along The Strip, and beaches on both the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts. For business travellers used to booking taxis for every meal, that is a practical saving in both time and expense.
Getting there and getting in

Entry requirements have also changed. Saint Kitts and Nevis now operates an electronic travel authorisation scheme, which UK visitors should complete before departure rather than on arrival.
With an 18-month build ahead of it, The Wedge will not take bookings for some time. But for companies planning 2027 travel to the eastern Caribbean, it adds a property type the island has been short of, and one that reduces the gap between a hotel room and a serviced apartment.
