Business and leisure travellers flying between Europe and the Americas will soon have a new cabin choice, as TAP Air Portugal unveils premium economy seating across its long-haul fleet.
Starting in summer 2026, TAP will roll out premium economy cabins on its Airbus A330 and A321LR aircraft. Positioned between business and economy, the new cabin is designed to bridge comfort and value for travellers seeking more space and elevated service without the full premium of business class.
The new cabin will feature 12 seats arranged in three rows of four, each designed to be “neighbour-free” for added privacy. Passengers can expect:
- Priority services: premium check-in, fast-track security, priority baggage handling and boarding.
- Enhanced onboard experience: a premium main meal with two hot-dish options, amenity kit, upgraded pillow and enhanced headphones.
- Flexibility: tickets include options for rebooking and refunds.
- Loyalty perks: bonus miles for TAP Miles&Go members (details to be confirmed).
Premium economy is increasingly popular among long-haul travellers who want more comfort and efficiency without the higher cost of business class. For TAP, the move strengthens its competitive position on transatlantic routes, particularly between Portugal, North America and Brazil, while also appealing to corporate travellers seeking a balance of comfort and value.
“This new cabin fills the gap between business and economy, offering travellers more choice and flexibility on long-haul journeys,” TAP said. “It reshapes the onboard experience with added comfort and premium touches, while maintaining accessibility.”
