The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection partners with designer Johanna Ortiz for a limited-time Ilma takeover in 2026, transforming the Pool Deck and Observation Terrace with custom prints, cocktails and boutique fashion.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has announced a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Colombian luxury designer Johanna Ortiz, debuting aboard its yacht Ilma for Winter 2026.

The limited-time takeover will see Ortiz’s signature prints and textiles reimagine the yacht’s Pool Deck and Observation Terrace, creating a vibrant, immersive environment that blends high fashion with ocean travel.

Launching during Ilma’s Winter 2026 Caribbean season and continuing into Summer 2026 in the Mediterranean, the partnership reflects a shared emphasis on travel as an emotional, sensory experience grounded in craftsmanship, discovery and connection.

Transforming decks 9 and 10

Decks 9 and 10 aboard Ilma have been redesigned under Ortiz’s creative direction, anchored by a custom print concept titled Tropical Exuberance. Inspired by Caribbean flora and the natural landscapes of the designer’s heritage, the motif is interwoven with a sailing rope knot detail, a subtle nod to maritime tradition.

Two distinct design narratives shape the upper decks:
• La Rumba, on Deck 10’s Pool Deck, channels the energy of the Caribbean through layered deep blues. The space, centred around the yacht’s main pool and bar, is designed for sociability — music, cocktails and long afternoons at sea.
• La Siesta, on Deck 9’s Observation Terrace, offers a calmer aesthetic in rich tropical greens. The lounge environment invites quiet reflection, conversation and late-day repose as the yacht sails onward.

The result is a fluid transition from vibrant daytime energy to tranquil evening ambience, mirroring the rhythm of life on board.

Fashion, flavour and lifestyle at sea

Beyond visual transformation, the collaboration extends into curated culinary elements. Select cocktails and mocktails inspired by Ortiz’s favourite botanicals and coastal flavours will be available in both takeover areas, incorporating tropical fruits, aromatic herbs and floral notes.

A capsule selection of Johanna Ortiz ready-to-wear pieces will also be offered in the onboard boutique, allowing guests to carry the aesthetic beyond the voyage.

For Ortiz, whose work is defined by fluid silhouettes, artisanal detail and Latin heritage, the sea has long been a source of inspiration. The collaboration captures her affinity for exploration and storytelling through design.

For The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the initiative underscores a broader strategy of experiential luxury, merging hospitality, culture and creative partnerships to elevate life on board.

A growing trend in experiential cruising

As ultra-luxury cruising continues to evolve, curated brand partnerships are becoming a powerful differentiator. Rather than traditional themed voyages, this takeover integrates fashion directly into the spatial and sensory design of the yacht.

For high-net-worth travellers and design-conscious guests, the initiative offers more than décor, it creates a living, immersive narrative at sea.

From sun-drenched afternoons on the Pool Deck to reflective evenings on the Observation Terrace, the Johanna Ortiz takeover aims to leave guests with what the brand describes as a lasting “vacation glow”, where fashion, place and journey converge seamlessly across ocean horizons.
