Pierre & Vacances is expanding Sunday to Sunday stays across its Premium Ski Residences in the French Alps, giving travellers a way to sidestep the notorious Saturday changeover that clogs alpine roads, airports and resort check-ins every winter weekend.
For UK business travellers and SME owners trying to squeeze a week on the slopes around work commitments, the shift matters. Flights and transfers are typically cheaper and easier to secure on Sundays, and arriving a day after the crowds means quieter roads, shorter queues and a calmer start to the week.
Quieter slopes and a Monday ski school start
The operator has partnered with the ESF ski school so that guests arriving on Sunday can begin their courses on Monday without losing any time on the mountain. Sunday arrivals also benefit from quieter pistes and retail facilities on their first full day, free of the usual Saturday congestion.
The company says the model supports more eco-conscious travel by dispersing peak traffic and lowering carbon impact, a consideration for firms tracking the emissions of staff trips. Résidence premium L’Hévana, in the heart of the Tarentaise Valley in Méribel, is 250 metres from the slopes and offers an outdoor hot tub, a Deep Nature Spa and private saunas in select apartments. February 2026 rates start from £4,672.96 for a two-bedroom apartment.
Résidence premium Les Crêts in Méribel-Mottaret sits at 1,750 metres, within 50 metres of the slopes in Les 3 Vallées and directly on the Aigle red run into Mottaret. Rates start from £2,318.08 for a one-bedroom apartment in February 2026.
Résidence premium Les Terrasses d’Hélios in Flaine delivers a five-star experience in Haute-Savoie, one of France’s most iconic alpine regions, with a heated indoor pool, sauna, hammam and hot tubs. February 2026 rates start from £2,410.10 for a one-bedroom apartment.
Sunday to Sunday stays are also available at Le Mont Soleil and Le Quartz in La Plagne, Capella, Atria-Crozats and Saskia Falaise in Avoriaz, Le Belmont in Arc 1800, and Les Ravines in Méribel.
