Fuji Kawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival, one of Japan’s celebrated seasonal events, is held along the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko

With Mount Fuji as a backdrop, this festival from the 1st to 30th November is a display of vibrant foliage with the chance to walk through Momiji Kairo, a two kilometre-long
maple corridor of more than 60 maple trees, their leaves ablaze in shades of red, yellow, and orange.

As daylight fades, the light-up of the autumn leaves takes place and there is also a market offering seasonal delicacies, beverages, and local souvenirs.

Glamping Villa Hanz in the Lake Kawaguchi area has igloo-like tents encircling a communal bar in the depth of the forest.
