Samoëns, one of Haute‑Savoie’s most authentic villages and a gateway to France’s fifth‑largest ski area, the Grand Massif, has announced a packed programme of new experiences for winter 2026/27.

The historic village, known for its family‑friendly atmosphere and deep-rooted traditions, is adding gourmet events, innovative ski technology and fresh openings to its seasonal calendar.

19 December 2026 – 3 January 2027: Magical Christmas in Samoëns

The season begins with a festive takeover of the historic centre around Place du Gros Tilleul, where sparkling decorations, artisan stalls, shows, magical character parades and a living nativity scene animate the village. Highlights include the Santa Claus sleigh parade and the Christmas Run — a costumed race through illuminated streets for all ages and abilities.

8–11 January 2027: Wine Tasting Festival

Les Vignerons Font du Ski returns with its third edition, offering wine lovers the chance to discover regional vintages and meet local winemakers after a day on the slopes.

14–17 January 2027: The Cheese Party

Samoëns launches the first edition of its new gourmet festival dedicated to Savoie cheeses and street‑food culture. Expect food trucks, inventive cheese‑based dishes, local producers, concerts and a lively après‑ski atmosphere across four days.

From 1 December 2026: Mobile Lakeside Sauna

By the shores of Lac aux Dames, visitors can unwind in a cedar‑clad mobile sauna heated by a wood‑burning stove — or brave an ice‑cold plunge for a full hot‑and‑cold ritual under the guidance of a coach. The experience runs Friday to Sunday, 9am–9pm, throughout the winter season.

New for Winter 2026/27: Electric Skiing

One of Samoëns’ quirkiest additions is electric skiing — an all‑terrain concept that recreates the sensation of alpine skiing on snowy or even snow‑free trails. Developed by the Masseboeuf brothers under the Skwheel brand, the electric skis reach up to 60 km/h with 2,500 W of power and a 50 km range. Sessions begin with an introduction before heading out along suitable routes, accessible to both beginners and experienced skiers.

New Openings: Chalet & Restaurant

Just 800m from the village centre,Le Mazot du Paradis, a new 4‑star chalet created by joining two traditional mazots, offers an intimate five‑guest retreat with access to the wellness facilities at Hôtel Neige et Roc, including pools, spa, sauna and hammam.

Samoëns also welcomes Savorn, a new bistronomic restaurant founded by a young Parisian couple, serving seasonal, homemade dishes priced between €24 and €35 and adding creative flair to traditional French cuisine.
