The best cities in Europe to see cherry blossoms in 2025 🌸

Cherry blossoms bloom in different cities around the world for a short period between March and May, with the Japanese celebrating their arrival by holding several festivals. However, if a trip to Japan doesn’t fit in your plans, you can still embrace the beauty of spring by exploring these European countries that showcase stunning cherry blossom displays.
🇫🇷 Paris, France 🌸
In mid-April, Paris’ iconic Haussmann boulevards and historical sights transform into a blooming oasis with the cherry blossoms taking centre stage. These trees were introduced in the 19th century as ornamental trees, and today, the presence of pink blossoms makes the city an even more romantic version of itself. Flights to Paris from London start from £31 one-way.
Parc de Sceaux – a hidden gem located just outside of central Paris. With over 150 cherry trees creating a sea of pink each year.
Square Jean XXIII – Located in a more central location, Square Jean XXIII offers beautiful sakura views right behind the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Parc du Champ de Mars  – Probably the most popular and most Instagrammable spot in Paris, the cherry blossoms here bloom with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
🇳🇱 Amsterdam, Netherlands 🌸
Amsterdam might be world-famous for its tulips; however, the cherry blossoms are just as stunning with deeper, cultural meanings to the city. Flights to Amsterdam from London start from £52 one-way to enjoy this city’s blossom season.
Kersenbloesempark (Cherry Blossom Park) – Located just outside the city near Amstelveen, this dedicated cherry blossom park has over 400 trees. They were donated by the Japanese Women’s Club in 2000 as a symbol of unity between the two nations, and each tree was given a Japanese or Dutch female name.
Westerpark – Found closer to the city centre, this park features scattered cherry trees that make it perfect for picnics and walks.
Museumplein – In the city’s cultural centre, you’ll find blossoms nestled between the iconic Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, where you can take in the sights while soaking in the art and history.

Renowned for its history, culture and castles, Edinburgh erupts in soft pink as an underrated cherry blossom destination. Because of the cooler climate, the trees here bloom later, which makes it perfect for visiting in late April or early to mid-May. If you’re aiming to explore Edinburgh’s cherry trees, flights start from £51 from London.
The Meadows – The Meadows is a blossom-lined park next to the University of Edinburgh campus. One of the trees found on Coronation Walk is notably dedicated to local pop band, the Bay City Rollers.
Princess Street Gardens – Found in the city centre, the suitably named park offers views of Edinburgh Castle with a collection of cherry trees in the foreground, making it one of the most picturesque places in Edinburgh.
Royal Botanic Gardens – A dedicated and peaceful place to admire many varieties of cherry trees, as well as the local and native plants belonging to Edinburgh.
🇸🇪Stockholm, Sweden 🌸
Cherry blossoms in Stockholm have an entire day devoted to their celebration. The 28th of April sees Sakura-dagen, which includes a festival of Japanese food, music and performances highlighting the city’s appreciation for Japanese culture. Flights to Stockholm start from just £60 one-way from London.
Kungsträdgården – This is the city’s most famous cherry blossom location, where the majority of crowds gather to celebrate Sakura-dagen (Cherry Blossom Day).
Luma Park – A quieter urban park mostly used by locals, this park has a smaller collection of blooming cherry trees with hardly any crowds.
Bysistorget, Södermalm – Found in the trendiest part of Stockholm, this hidden gem sits within a residential square. Cherry blossom trees line the street beside charming cafes where you can enjoy a cup of coffee.

Bispebjerg Cemetery – A peaceful location that becomes a tunnel filled with overarching cherry blossoms. This location is one of the most Instagrammed spring scenes in the country.
