The Pig has officially announced its next hotel will open in Tunbridge Wells, following the acquisition of the Grade‑II listed Tunbridge Wells Hotel on The Pantiles.
The move lands after months of gentle teasing from the group, which has been hinting at new chapters and “what’s taking shape behind the gates” across its own channels — most notably through updates on its forthcoming Warwickshire property, THE PIG‑on the farm.
On its site, the brand has been warming up loyal guests with language that suggests more Pig news is always just around the corner. “If you’ve been following our plans… thank you for sticking with us,” the team wrote, acknowledging the long‑running anticipation around new openings. They added that “the wait is finally starting to feel very worthwhile” as builders move on site and the restoration gathers pace — a tone that mirrors the slow‑burn reveal of the Tunbridge Wells project.
The Pig has also been encouraging guests to “come along for the ride” as it shares behind‑the‑scenes glimpses of its next openings, promising first looks and updates “before anyone else checks in”. That breadcrumb‑trail approach has kept fans alert for the next announcement — making the Tunbridge Wells reveal feel like the natural continuation of a story they’ve been following for months.
The newly acquired Pantiles property includes 20 bedrooms, a honeymoon suite, an 80‑cover restaurant, a 50‑seat function room and a terrace for around 90 guests. It will undergo a full refurbishment with the brand’s signature “Piggy touches,” with the group emphasising that the new site is “different, yes — but absolutely not less Pig,” according to its statement.
The opening will mark the group’s 10th property, joining its growing portfolio across Bath, Sussex, Cornwall and the Cotswolds. And if The Pig’s recent teasing is anything to go by, Tunbridge Wells won’t be the last surprise they have tucked up their sleeve.
