Wizz Air is extending its Wizz Class service across its entire network following a successful trial on select routes, where uptake “exceeded expectations”.
The optional add-on, designed with business travellers in mind, allows passengers to reserve the adjacent middle seat for additional space and comfort. It also includes a complimentary in-flight non-alcoholic drink and snack.
Initially launched in January on flights serving Budapest, Bucharest Otopeni, Warsaw, London Luton, London Gatwick and Rome Fiumicino, the product will now be progressively introduced across the airline’s wider European and Middle Eastern network.
Wizz Class is available as an add-on during the booking process for passengers purchasing Smart and Plus fare bundles. These bundles already include priority boarding and a 10kg carry-on bag, making the upgrade particularly relevant for short-haul corporate trips.
While Wizz Air does not operate a dedicated business cabin, the Wizz Class concept mirrors the European short-haul model used by legacy carriers, blocking the middle seat to create additional personal space rather than reconfiguring the aircraft.
For cost-conscious SMEs and independent consultants travelling frequently across Central and Eastern Europe, the proposition offers incremental comfort without the fare jump typically associated with traditional business class products.
According to the airline, feedback from the initial six-base trial was “overwhelmingly positive”, with business travellers in particular citing additional space as a key driver of satisfaction.
Silvia Mosquera, commercial officer at Wizz Air, said: “After testing Wizz Class at six of our bases and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback, it became clear that passengers, especially business travellers, value the extra comfort and space this service provides.”
The rollout reflects growing demand for flexible, modular products within the low-cost sector, where travellers increasingly expect customisable bundles rather than rigid fare categories.
For corporate travel buyers, the network-wide introduction of Wizz Class provides an additional tool for balancing traveller comfort with budget control.
As European short-haul markets remain highly competitive, low-cost carriers are under pressure to attract higher-yield passengers without fundamentally altering their cost base. Blocking a middle seat and adding modest onboard perks represents a relatively low-investment way to capture business demand.
With Wizz Air continuing to expand across key business corridors in the UK, Central Europe and the Balkans, the availability of Wizz Class across the network may further position the airline as a viable option for managed travel programmes seeking affordable yet enhanced short-haul solutions.
