History and ownership
The Conrad Los Angeles welcomed its first guests in July 2022, marking the debut of Conrad Hotels & Resorts’ first property in California. The hotel boasts a unique Tetris-like façade that harmonizes with the adjacent Walt Disney Concert Hall, both of which are masterpieces by the visionary architect Frank Gehry.
Rooms and decoration
The hotel features 305 exquisitely designed rooms and suites, with 15 rooms accessible to guests with disabilities. Every room provides breath-taking views of either the urban skyline or the Hollywood Hills. The interiors, designed by Tara Bernerd & Partners, radiate a minimalist yet opulent atmosphere, complete with a generous living space, walk-in shower, and Byredo Mojave Ghost toiletries, enhancing the luxurious experience.
The stay experience
As soon as the elevator doors parted, revealing the bright and spacious lobby, I was enthralled by the sweeping views of the Disney Concert Hall. Conrad’s 10th-floor outdoor terrace is set to become a hub of entertainment for both locals and hotel guests. Its lively ambiance, coupled with a thoughtful blend of broad cityscapes and cosy nooks, promises to draw crowds for dining, drinks, and shows. The terrace, encircling the building, offers an idyllic spot for cocktails at dusk, as Los Angeles begins to shimmer. The hotel exudes a serene opulence, establishing itself as a perfect haven for business travellers and cultural enthusiasts alike.
