With 628,000 Google searches and a 41% increase in the past month, it is safe to say that Seville is one of Spain’s most desired destinations.

But, with popularity comes crowds and a less authentic experience, so global travel booking site, Omio, has found a Seville dupe without the hustle and bustle of tourists that you can visit for as little as £44!

Located in Andalusia, Córdoba offers an authentic Sevillian experience without the chaos of crowds or the need to spend a small fortune. As a former Roman and Moorish capital, the city offers a remarkably similar architectural and cultural experience to Seville, too.

Known for its winding old town streets, flower-filled courtyards and atmospheric plazas, Córdoba is often referred to as ‘mini Seville’. Much like Seville, it has a strong Andalusian character that is shaped by flamenco, tapas culture and an abundance of Islamic and Christian heritage. However, it’s compact size makes it easier to explore without the crowds, queues or peak-season price inflation you find in larger Spanish cities.

One of the city’s biggest draws is its affordability. As Seville’s demand has grown, so have its costs, with summer prices rising across accommodation and dining, Córdoba remains much more budget-friendly. The city boasts cheaper hotel stays and more locally priced tapas bars, offering authentic Andalusian cuisine without the tourist premiums.

For those who love a city rich in culture and stunning architecture, then Córdoba will certainly fill their cup. Whether it is gawping at the Mezquita-Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site, exploring the Jewish quarter, relaxing in flower-filled patios or strolling across the Roman Bridge for views over the Guadalquivir River, there is plenty to do and see.

Although Córdoba is considered a dupe of Seville, those who still want to experience the real deal can do so while still reaping the benefits of Córdoba’s cheaper stay. Seville is accessible via high-speed train, taking only 45 minutes. Prices start from as little as £9 making it an affordable day trip.
