A new chapter is underway for the Log Cabin at the Presidio, where recent upgrades have elevated the historic venue’s appeal for meetings and events while preserving its signature rustic character.

Built in 1937 by the U.S. Army as part of a Works Progress Administration project, the Monterey‑cypress structure embodies the classic national‑park style. Today, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, it serves as one of the Presidio’s most distinctive venues for corporate gatherings, off‑sites and social events.

A series of enhancements has modernised the space without compromising its heritage. Improvements include refinished hardwood flooring, upgraded lighting with restored wagon‑wheel chandeliers, removal of dated ceiling tiles to reveal original beams, fully renovated restrooms, and new enclosed storage and waste areas. Decorative planters that double as vehicle barriers have also been added to improve both aesthetics and safety.

The result is a more functional, polished environment that still delivers the Log Cabin’s hallmark atmosphere: exposed wood, a stone fireplace and expansive windows framing the Presidio landscape and San Francisco skyline.

With indoor and outdoor space for up to 250 guests, the Log Cabin remains a standout option for executive retreats, corporate receptions and off‑site meetings. It is one of three special event venues operated by Wedgewood Weddings and Events within the Presidio of San Francisco.
