Interest in Scottish getaways is soaring as the second series of The Celebrity Traitors begins filming in the Highlands.

Parkdean Resorts reports 216,000 Google searches for “Scotland holidays” in the past 30 days, coinciding with 21 celebrities landing in Inverness to start production.

Searches for “where is the traitors castle” have risen 130% month on month, while US curiosity has skyrocketed, queries for the same term are up 1,328% year‑on‑year, driven by the popularity of the American adaptation.

With excitement building around the new celebrity series, Parkdean has curated a list of Highland castles for travellers wanting to immerse themselves in the show’s atmospheric world.

Castles to Visit in the Scottish Highlands

Ardross Castle, Ross & Cromarty

The show’s filming location a 19th‑century Baronial estate with dramatic turrets and a fairytale silhouette. While not open year‑round, it can be booked for corporate events and weddings.

Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness

A medieval stronghold with over 1,000 years of history and sweeping views across Loch Ness. A favourite for visitors hoping to spot the legendary monster.

Dunrobin Castle, Sutherland

A French‑château‑style landmark with nearly 200 rooms, formal gardens, a museum and twice‑daily falconry displays.

Brodie Castle, Moray

A 16th‑century home of Clan Brodie, surrounded by countryside, gardens, nature trails and spring daffodil displays.

Cawdor Castle, Nairnshire

A 14th‑century estate tied to Shakespeare’s Macbeth, open most of the year and home to its own nine‑hole golf course.

A Parkdean spokesperson says Scotland’s appeal continues to rise as travellers seek dramatic landscapes, cultural depth and UK‑based escapes that feel “a world away”. The Highlands, they note, offer scenery often compared to Norway and Canada, alongside rich heritage and outstanding hiking routes.
