Air Arabia has officially commenced its new double daily non‑stop flights between Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick, marking a significant expansion of the carrier’s UK network.
The inaugural service departed on 4 July 2026, strengthening direct air links between the UAE and the UK and enhancing affordable travel options for passengers on both sides of the route .
The launch underscores Air Arabia’s strategy to grow its international footprint from Sharjah, offering greater choice and convenience for travellers while supporting rising demand for Middle East–UK connectivity. The airline described the new route as a key addition that will foster tourism, business travel and cultural exchange between the two nations .
Ceremonies marking the inaugural flight were held at both Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick. Senior representatives from the Sharjah Airport Authority, the British Embassy in the UAE and Air Arabia leadership attended the event, highlighting the route’s importance for trade and economic ties between the countries .
Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali said the new Gatwick service “reinforces our dedication to offering customers greater travel choice, convenience and value,” noting that the route will play a central role in meeting growing demand for direct travel between the UAE and the UK .
London Gatwick’s Head of Aviation Development, Jonny Macneal, welcomed the carrier’s arrival, emphasising that the twice‑daily schedule provides strong flexibility for passengers and further strengthens the airport’s connectivity to the Middle East .
Flights are operated by Air Arabia’s Airbus A321neo LR, offering extended range, improved fuel efficiency and enhanced passenger comfort. Travellers can also access the airline’s onboard streaming service SkyTime, its SkyCafe menu, and benefit from Air Rewards, billed as the region’s most generous loyalty programme .
Bookings for the Sharjah–Gatwick service are now open via Air Arabia’s website, call centre and travel agency partners .
