Alaska Airlines has revealed a new special‑edition aircraft livery titled “To 45 and Beyond”, marking the upcoming 45th anniversary of its regional carrier, Horizon Air.
The design, inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, brings a sense of playfulness and nostalgia to the fleet while celebrating the airline’s long‑standing commitment to safe and caring service.
The Embraer 175 aircraft features a vibrant fuselage showcasing Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie, alongside new characters from the upcoming film, including Lilypad, Snappy, Atlas and Smarty Pants. The livery also incorporates floating clouds and playful callouts such as “Saddle Up, It’s Takeoff Time!” and “Ready for Takeoff, Partner”. Forky and Karen Beverly appear on the winglets, extending the theme across the aircraft’s full silhouette.
Unveiled at Portland International Airport, the aircraft celebrates both the airline’s milestone year and the enduring cultural impact of the Toy Story franchise, which has resonated with audiences for more than three decades. Horizon Air President and CEO Andy Schneider said the livery is a fitting tribute to the carrier’s history and the people who deliver its service every day, calling the 45‑year milestone “meaningful” and the design a way to “bring out the kid in all of us”.
The new aircraft joins Alaska’s existing collection of Disney‑themed liveries, further strengthening the airline’s long‑running creative partnership with the studio.
With “To 45 and Beyond,” Alaska Airlines blends brand storytelling with aviation heritage — a colourful reminder that even as the airline grows, adventure and imagination remain central to its identity.
