Aman is preparing to bring its signature serenity to an unexpected corner of the United States: Texas Hill Country, where the brand will open a secluded ranch retreat known as Amansanu.

The move marks Aman’s sixth U.S. property and its most expansive rural project to date, deepening the brand’s push into North American luxury landscapes. The location — a sweep of rolling hills, sculpted canyons and winding creeks — offers the kind of cinematic isolation that has long defined Aman’s global portfolio, from Bhutan’s valleys to Rajasthan’s desert fringes.

Derived from Sanskrit for “peaceful peak,” Amansanu is designed as a retreat that feels far removed from the modern world, yet sits just 90 minutes from Austin, placing it within reach for business travellers extending a trip or leisure visitors seeking a restorative long weekend. The project has been shaped by Olson Kundig, the acclaimed architecture studio known for its ability to frame landscapes rather than dominate them. Here, the buildings follow the contours of the terrain, creating a low‑impact architectural footprint that blends into the Hill Country’s natural drama.

The retreat will include a collection of Aman‑branded residences and hotel suites, but its most distinctive feature is a first for the brand: fully serviced stables, allowing guests to explore the surrounding wilderness on horseback — a nod to the region’s ranching heritage and a rare offering in the ultra‑luxury space. For those who prefer to explore on foot, the property is surrounded by hiking trails that cut through the canyons and creek beds.

As expected from Aman, wellness sits at the heart of the experience. Guests can expect an Aman Spa and Wellness Centre, racquet sports courts and a selection of restaurants designed to anchor the retreat as a self‑contained sanctuary. While an opening date has not yet been announced, Amansanu is positioned to become one of the most anticipated U.S. luxury openings of the decade.

For the business‑travel audience, the appeal is clear. Texas Hill Country has become a quiet favourite for leadership retreats, off‑sites and high‑end incentive travel, a place where privacy, space and nature create the conditions for strategic thinking. Amansanu elevates that proposition with Aman’s trademark restraint: minimalism, calm, and a sense of being deliberately removed from the noise.

In a landscape where luxury increasingly means seclusion, Amansanu feels like a natural next step for the brand — and a compelling new chapter for Texas.
