BWH® Hotels today announced the addition of two Dutch properties – Berlage Hotel in The Hague and Kasteelhotel Terborgh in Limburg.
These affiliations strengthen the brand’s presence in the Netherlands while expanding global visibility for two independent hotels defined by heritage, character and a strong sense of place.
The additions reflect BWH Hotels’ continued focus on welcoming independent properties that deliver memorable, experience-led stays while benefiting from global distribution, marketing support and loyalty reach.
Berlage Hotel, The Hague — A Four-Star Boutique Revival
Located in the heart of The Hague city center, Berlage Hotel enters BW Signature Collection® as it embarks on a new chapter following its recent grand reopening and four-star upgrade. The design-driven boutique property blends contemporary comfort with the architectural grandeur of its historic structure, offering 41 thoughtfully designed rooms, restored interiors and warm, texture-rich design elements.
Through its affiliation with BW Signature Collection®, Berlage Hotel strengthens its global visibility while maintaining its independent charm and identity. The hotel benefits from BWH Hotels’ worldwide distribution channels, marketing resources and access to Best Western Rewards®, allowing guests to earn and redeem points across the global network.
Kasteelhotel Terborgh, Limburg — A 13th-Century Castle Stay
In southern Limburg, Kasteelhotel Terborgh adds a heritage-led dimension to the Dutch portfolio. Dating back to circa 1200 and located within Huis Terborgh (Kasteel Schinnen)—a National Monument (No. 33357)—the intimate castle hotel sits directly along the renowned Pieterpad route and offers a boutique stay defined by historic atmosphere and intimacy.
With just 17 rooms, the property combines preserved medieval character with contemporary comfort, appealing to leisure travellers seeking cultural discovery as well as business guests looking for a high-character setting. The hotel forms part of a moated castle complex arranged around an inner courtyard, featuring historic architectural elements including a chapel. The site’s origins trace back to 1285, when the earliest records mention a residential tower on the property.
Strengthening the Dutch Portfolio
“We are delighted to welcome both Berlage Hotel and Kasteelhotel Terborgh to the Best Western Signature Collection,” said Jeroen van Gils, Development Director Europe, BWH Hotels. “Each property embodies what this collection stands for: individuality, character and a strong sense of place. From an urban four-star boutique revival in The Hague to a centuries-old castle stay in Limburg, these additions showcase the breadth of our Dutch portfolio. Through the Signature Collection, both hotels benefit from the strength of an international brand, global distribution, marketing support and our loyalty ecosystem, while fully preserving their independent identities.”
