Courtyard by Marriott has opened its first hotel in Ghaziabad, handing UK business travellers working across Delhi NCR a new 106-key base in one of the region’s fastest growing commercial and residential corridors. The property, in Rajnagar Extension, marks the brand’s debut in the city.
The opening matters because Ghaziabad has long been somewhere UK visitors commute to rather than stay in. Meetings at the industrial estates, corporate offices, education campuses and healthcare facilities on the eastern edge of the capital region have usually meant basing yourself in Delhi or Noida and absorbing the traffic at both ends of the day. A branded hotel on the doorstep changes that calculation, particularly for anyone running multi-day site visits or supplier audits.
What the location means for your itinerary
The hotel is connected to Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Meerut by major expressways, national highways and the Delhi to Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS). It sits roughly one hour from Indira Gandhi International Airport, 15 minutes from Anand Vihar Bus Terminal, which carries extensive connections to Tier II and Tier III cities, and 20 minutes from Ghaziabad Railway Station.
That one-hour airport transfer is the number to plan around. Long-haul arrivals from London land into a congested morning window at IGI, so build in a buffer before any same-day meeting. UK carriers have been steadily adding capacity on the route, as covered in our report on British Airways expanding its India routes.
Key corporate offices, industrial hubs, educational institutions and healthcare facilities across Ghaziabad are within easy reach, as are India Expo Mart, Akshardham Temple and shopping destinations across Noida and East Delhi. For exhibition delegates in particular, the proximity to India Expo Mart is the strongest single argument for staying east rather than central.
Rooms, meetings and event space
The hotel has 106 contemporary guestrooms and suites fitted with modern amenities, plush bedding, ergonomic workspaces, high-speed connectivity and flexible layouts intended to work for both desk time and downtime.
On the meetings side there is more than 8,000 square feet of versatile indoor event space, including a 5,100 square-foot Grand Ballroom, supported by modern audio-visual technology and dedicated event planning services. That covers everything from board meetings and corporate conferences through to weddings and social celebrations. Worth noting for planners: the venue is being positioned for the Indian wedding market as well as corporate business, so peak season dates will move quickly and early booking is sensible.
Dining, wellness and Bonvoy points
Two venues handle food and drink. L3 Kitchen, the all-day dining restaurant, runs an extensive menu of global favourites, wholesome dishes and authentic regional Indian cuisine. Yard & Brew, the lobby lounge and bar, offers handcrafted drinks and globally inspired small plates, and is the more useful room for an informal meeting or an after-work catch-up with local contacts.
Wellness facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, a fully equipped fitness centre and a spa offering restorative treatments.
The hotel participates in Marriott Bonvoy, so members can earn and redeem points here and across the wider portfolio, with the Bonvoy app handling contactless check-in and personalisation. For SMEs consolidating spend on one loyalty programme, that is the practical differentiator over an unbranded local property.
The opening continues Marriott International’s push into India’s high-growth markets, following recent debuts including Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Infopark and the Aravali Marriott Resort and Spa in Delhi NCR. It also lands as UK to India corporate traffic climbs following the UK-India trade deal, which came into force this year and has pushed India further up the list of destinations UK SMEs are travelling to.
Rates and reservations are available through the hotel’s Marriott listing.
