Hilton is accelerating its expansion across Brazil, unveiling plans to double its national footprint by 2030 as the country’s tourism and corporate travel sectors continue to rebound at pace.
With nearly 30 hotels already operating across ten brands, Brazil has become one of Hilton’s most strategically important markets in the Caribbean and Latin America region.
Christian Charnaux, Hilton’s executive vice president and chief development officer, said owner appetite is driving the momentum: “Brazil is a market of tremendous opportunity, and Hilton’s high‑performing brands and powerful commercial engines make us the preferred partner for owners looking to grow.”
A Standout Year for Openings and Approvals
In 2025, Hilton debuted several properties in new Brazilian markets, including Tru by Hilton Chapecó, Hampton by Hilton Caraguatatuba Serramar, and DoubleTree by Hilton Caracol Canela. The company also reported a strong pipeline of nearly 30 hotels—its most active development period in the country to date.
For business travellers, the growth of focused‑service brands such as Tru and Hampton signals more mid‑scale, efficiency‑driven options in secondary and tertiary cities—markets increasingly important for Brazil’s domestic corporate sector.
Expanding Beyond the Big Two
While São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro remain core hubs, Hilton is pushing into new destinations from Recife to Ilhabela, Natal to Bento Gonçalves. Highlights include:
- Motto by Hilton Recife Antigo, which opened last month, marking the lifestyle brand’s Brazilian debut.
- Casa Costa Ilhabela, Curio Collection by Hilton, set for 2026, bringing boutique luxury to one of Brazil’s most scenic islands.
- Hilton Manaus, planned for 2028, marking the brand’s first entry into the Amazon region.
- Hilton Garden Inn Natal, also expected in 2028, supporting rising business demand in the Northeast.
For corporate travellers, this expansion means greater national coverage and more consistency in service and amenities across Brazil’s diverse regions.
Airport Hotels Take Centre Stage
Hilton is also strengthening its presence at key aviation gateways—an area of growing importance for business travellers seeking seamless transit stays.
Upcoming openings include:
- Tru by Hilton São Paulo Congonhas Airport (2028)
- Hilton Garden Inn São Paulo Congonhas (2029)
- Hilton Garden Inn Floripa Airport in Florianópolis (2029)
These developments follow the success of Hampton by Hilton Guarulhos Airport, opened in 2019.
Conversions and Branded Residences Fuel Growth
More than half of Hilton’s Brazilian portfolio now comes from conversions—an approach that allows the company to quickly scale while refreshing existing properties under globally recognised brands. Recent examples include Yoo2 Rio de Janeiro, now part of the Tapestry Collection, and Hilton Garden Inn Maceió.
Hilton is also seeing strong demand for branded residences, with Qoya Residences Curitiba, Curio Collection by Hilton slated for 2028. These projects blend upscale living with hotel‑level amenities, appealing to long‑stay executives and investors alike.
A Strategic Bet on Brazil’s Business Travel Future
Hilton’s expansion in Brazil forms part of a broader regional strategy, with more than 300 hotels now operating across the Caribbean and Latin America and over 150 in the pipeline. For business travellers, the company’s accelerated growth promises greater choice, improved connectivity, and more consistency across Brazil’s rapidly evolving corporate travel landscape.
