Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences will expand its Italian portfolio with the opening of Falkensteiner Resort Lake Garda in May 2026, a design-led five-star resort set on the south-western shore of Lake Garda.
The new-build property will feature 97 rooms and suites alongside 170 residences, all set within a landscaped botanical park inspired by the historic Historia della Riviera di Salò. More than 400 native plants and flowers will shape the resort’s gardens, blending architecture with cultivated nature.
Positioned within walking distance of the lakeside town of Salò, the development aims to combine natural immersion with easy access to one of Italy’s most scenic lakefront destinations.
Wellness will be central to the guest experience, anchored by the 5,000 square metre Acquapura SPA.
The main spa area includes indoor and outdoor pools, a splash pad, slide and baby pool for younger guests, alongside an indoor botanical garden and a garden bathing trail surrounded by olive trees and native flora.
An adults-only rooftop spa complex adds panoramic views across the lake and mountains, with facilities including a sauna, bio sauna, plunge pool, hammam and rooftop pool.
Guest rooms combine clean architectural lines with soft natural tones and pastel colour palettes. Interiors reinterpret classical Italian design through a contemporary lens with subtle retro details.
Accommodation ranges from 37-square-metre Studio Suites suitable for two adults to the expansive 87-square-metre Salò Suite accommodating up to five guests.
Dining follows Falkensteiner’s emphasis on regional ingredients and seasonal cooking.
Guests can choose between three venues: Artigiani restaurant, the Pool Restaurant and the Eolo Rooftop Bar. Menus range from handmade pasta and traditional Italian dishes to plant-based options prepared with locally sourced produce.
The resort has been designed with accessibility in mind, offering convenient connections to transport hubs in Verona, Milan, Bologna and Venice by both rail and air.
Beyond the resort, visitors can explore the lakeside promenade and historic centre of Salò, take boat trips to Isola del Garda, or visit the Giardino Botanico Fondazione André Heller, known for its diverse orchid collection and waterfall gardens.
Rates are expected to start from £562 per night for two people including breakfast, positioning Falkensteiner Resort Lake Garda firmly within the upper tier of the region’s luxury hospitality market.
