Wonderful Hospitality awaits at the newly opened Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, inviting travellers to rediscover one of Morocco’s most compelling coastal regions.

Marriott Hotels, the namesake brand of Marriott Bonvoy’s extraordinary portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, today announced the opening of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, a new premium beachside destination on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. This opening marks Marriott International’s arrival in Taghazout Bay and introduces the first-ever Marriott Resort in the Kingdom, deepening the group’s footprint in one of Morocco’s most rapidly evolving destinations. Conceived as a contemporary resort in seamless dialogue with the ocean, the property enriches the region’s tourism offering while elevating Taghazout Bay’s position as Morocco’s leading lifestyle and leisure destination.

Just a short drive from Agadir, Taghazout Bay has established itself in recent years as one of the Kingdom’s most ambitious tourism developments, built around a vision that blends surf culture, wellness, golf and outdoor living. Against this backdrop, the arrival of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort marks a new chapter in the destination’s international trajectory.

Beyond its exceptional natural setting, the resort is intrinsically connected to the spirit of the destination, inviting guests to discover a different perspective of the Moroccan Atlantic coast through experiences deeply rooted in the land and its communities. The resort offers 221 rooms and 29 suites, each with a private terrace or balcony, and open views over the Atlantic, the landscaped gardens and the resort pools.

The property has been designed to meet the expectations of both domestic and international travellers seeking hospitality that feels warm, contemporary and genuinely connected to where it stands. Reflecting Marriott Hotels’ continued evolution, the experience begins the moment guests arrive in the Greatroom; a vibrant, elegantly conceived living space that reimagines the traditional lobby as a place to meet, unwind and simply be. Designed as the social heart of the resort, it welcomes guests throughout the day, whether they are catching up with friends and families, working, or simply soaking up the atmosphere.

Design: Where land meets light

Inspired by the raw beauty of Morocco’s Atlantic coast, the resort reflects the natural essence of Taghazout Bay—its windswept landscapes, argan trees, cacti, mineral textures, and the constant rhythm of the ocean. Designed as a peaceful retreat in a preserved setting, it gently blurs the line between indoors and outdoors. Natural stone, soft textures, handwoven fabrics, and a palette of sand and sea tones create a space that feels warm, elegant, and rooted in its surroundings.

Moroccan craftsmanship is central to the design. Clean, contemporary lines are paired with local materials and handmade pieces by artisans. Natural fibers, textured fabrics, raw wood, and crafted details bring a refined yet understated coastal feel.

Light plays a key role throughout the day, with soft morning tones shifting to warm golden hues at sunset. This natural flow connects the architecture to its environment, creating a calm, immersive space to relax, breathe, and reconnect.

Dining: Three distinct worlds

The resort features three distinct dining experiences, each celebrating the cultures of the region and inspired by the coastal influences of the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Rivage, the all-day restaurant, brings the spirit of the Mediterranean and the seaside towns of southern France. Open, light-filled, and facing the ocean, it offers generous, relaxed cuisine in a bright, welcoming setting.

By the pools, Salt & Lime introduces a more vibrant atmosphere, inspired by the Pacific coast of Mexico and Southern California. With music, sunshine, and an easygoing energy, it’s a social spot that feels both stylish and effortlessly relaxed. In the evening, Brasa, the resort’s signature restaurant and bar, focuses on fire and sharing, with Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a warm, convivial setting overlooking the Atlantic. The experience continues at the bar, with smoky cocktails, a lively terrace, and an atmosphere made for long, laid-back evenings by the sea.

Active living and wellbeing

The resort’s outdoor spaces are designed to blend naturally with the Taghazout Bay surroundings. Four outdoor pools, landscaped gardens and padel courts, and open-air relaxation areas invite guests to enjoy the active coastal lifestyle. A fully equipped fitness centre completes the offer.

Later this summer, the resort will open its spa, designed as a peaceful space for relaxation and reconnection, inspired by the rhythm of the Atlantic coast. It will offer holistic treatments, signature rituals, and experiences for both body and mind.  Wellbeing here is shaped by the local way of life, where the ocean, movement, and open space play a central role. Whether it’s a walk on the beach, outdoor activity, or simply taking time by the sea, everything encourages a natural, effortless sense of balance.

Meetings, events and celebrations

The resort is also designed for business events and private celebrations. It features a 450 sqm ballroom that can host up to 540 guests, along with several meeting spaces. Together, they provide an ideal setting for conferences, corporate retreats, and special events, all overlooking the Atlantic. With dedicated facilities and an inspiring resort atmosphere, it offers a more relaxed and modern approach to meetings and events, where work, creativity, and wellbeing come together.
