The award-winning drinks business Allora Aperitivo al Limone has announced the construction of a brand home IL LIMONETO on its island of provenance, Procida, in Italy.
Allora Aperitivo al Limone, previous winner of Spirit Business’ Best New Spirit 2024 and Best Brand 2025, is a lemon aperitivo brand which only uses Procida lemon’s sweet peel and introduces their bitter leaves into the maceration process. Bringing a drinks attraction to the island of Procida is a milestone mark in the brand’s journey.
Procida, a small sun-drenched isle nestled in the bay of Naples neighbouring Capri and Ischia plays a huge part not only in the production of the liquid but the taste and flavour that Allora Aperitivo al Limone is known for. The island is known locally as the ‘Isola dei limoni’ because of its unique citrus fruit, referred to as ‘bread lemons’ for their thicker white pulp. The island isn’t just a hotspot for citrus fruits and refreshing drinks, but is also the backdrop for Oscar winning films including ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’ (1999) and ‘Il Postino’ (1994) as Procida was often used as a filming location.
Opening in July 2026, Allora is bringing IL LIMONETO (translated as ‘the lemon grove’) to life as its brand home on the island, consisting of a boutique bar and lemon experience that is open by appointment only during the summer months. The space will be run by the brand’s lemon grower and Procida based partner in Allora Aperitivo al Limone, David Lubrano.
A curated cocktail list will include the brand’s signature serve, the Allora Lemon Spritz plus a host of others including Palomas, Negronis, Martinis and Margaritas all crafted using the distinctive taste and flavour of Allora Aperitivo al Limone. Guests and visitors will be able to sit amongst the lemon trees looking out towards Ischia as they get to enjoy aperitivo during the ‘Golden Hour’ as the sun sets into the Mediterranean Sea.
Jamie Mancini, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Allora Aperitivo al Limone, said: “There is an intangible magic to Procida. It’s a beautiful time capsule that transports you to the mid-century golden era of Italian culture.
“We attempt to capture as much as we can in our brand world which utilises typefaces found on street signage, colours pulled from the walls of its homes and of course our liquid embraces the island’s lemons and local craft. IL LIMONETO is a homage to all the wonder the island has to offer.”
IL LIMONETO has been designed and will be built by Phill Welch, Founder of Phill Creates Studio which works across luxury retail, film and TV set builds and art and event installations. His previous clients include Liberty, The Italian Embassy, Gorillaz, Glastonbury and The Missing Thread at Somerset House.
Working with local suppliers and crew as much as possible, the bar is being constructed using materials from Procida and the surrounding area including wood, fishing nets and decorative art and items.
Phill Welch, Founder of Phill Creates Studio, added: “We came to visit the island, and I was instantly inspired by everything around us. The island’s architecture, sea-faring industry and cultural significance will be reflected in the bar. It’s about creating a lemon haven on the island rather than something that contrasts the natural surroundings.”
IL LIMONETO will launch in July 2026 with more details to follow.
