Luxury beachfront resort The Anam Mui Ne has launched Champa Journey, a collection of four 120-minute spa rituals drawing on the heritage of the ancient Champa Kingdom and Vietnam’s herbal healing traditions.
The launch will interest UK business travellers looking to build recovery time into trips to Vietnam, a market seeing record growth in international arrivals this year. Mui Ne sits on the country’s south-central coast within reach of Ho Chi Minh City, making the resort a workable add-on to meetings in Vietnam’s commercial capital, particularly with Vietnam Airlines operating direct from London Heathrow.
The Champa Kingdom, a Hindu-Buddhist civilisation, flourished along Vietnam’s central and southern coastline for more than a millennium and remains an enduring part of the region’s cultural history. The new collection takes a contemporary approach to that legacy, using native botanicals and therapies aimed at calming the mind and body and supporting circulation and natural energy flow.
Four rituals rooted in Vietnamese healing
Champa Dawn Renewal opens with purifying steam therapy, followed by an Ayurvedic head massage and a herbal foot ritual to stimulate circulation. A rice body polish exfoliates the skin before a full-body massage designed to release tension.
Champa Sacred Earth also begins with a head massage and foot ritual, then centres on a herbal oil massage and a warm rice herbal compress massage to ground the body and quiet the mind. Champa Flow Within pairs a wave-inspired massage with a herbal bath ritual to restore the body’s natural energy flow, while Champa Bloom Essence combines detoxifying steam therapy with a mineral-rich mud facial and a sound healing session to encourage a meditative state and restore emotional balance.
Local botanicals and macrobiotic refreshments
Many of the ingredients, including perilla leaves, lemongrass, pandan leaves, aloe vera, turmeric, pomelo leaves and sea salt, have long featured in traditional Vietnamese remedies. Perilla leaves are prized in Vietnamese herbal medicine for their warming and restorative qualities, while sea salt nods to Mui Ne’s coastal setting. Rice, a symbol of life and nourishment across Asia, runs throughout the collection in warm herbal compresses blending roasted rice with lemongrass, ginger, turmeric and local herbs. Mineral-rich mud, a reference to the Champa Kingdom’s connection to the earth and sea, appears in the facial rituals.
Each experience finishes with light macrobiotic refreshments made from herbs, grains, seeds and native botanicals, from a Golden Spice Ginger Tonic and Imperial Jasmine Infusion to dishes such as Forest Essence Mushroom Congee and Silken Tofu Serenity.
“We believe wellness should feel connected to where you are and the Champa Kingdom remains an important part of this region’s story,” said The Anam Mui Ne’s resort manager Peter Ye. “‘Champa Journey’ is our interpretation of that cultural connection through wellness, with treatments influenced by Vietnamese healing rituals and Mui Ne’s restorative beachfront setting.”
Mui Ne’s rising profile
The launch adds to growing momentum on this stretch of coastline, where new beachfront resorts continue to open as Vietnam pushes to capture more long-haul visitors. Full details of the treatments are available through The Anam’s spa pages.
